WOMAN OF WAR: PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD

I was fully dressed staring in the mirror. My Father in Heaven had dressed me. He picked out the best of the things I had. This was my outfit for worship. This was my armor for war. The Lord gave Paul all the items necessary for protection in war in Ephesians 6. What Isaiah shows us and King David portrayed for us is the knowledge that worship is our attack weapon. Worship wins the war against the enemy. We need to be prepared to fight and withstand attacks with our armor for defense, our Sword of the Spirit, and our garment of praise.

As women of God, we need to allow the Sword of the Spirit to be pointed at us, to allow God to refine us into the women that He has created us to be, for His purposes. It is the seasons of struggling that He is refining and growing and stregnthening us. Let it happen, and praise God through it instead cursing the trials.

We as women have to actively decide that we will not allow negative thoughts to dictate our life. Low self esteem, body dysmorphia, depression, anxiety, stress, etc starts with a single thought that is allowed to fester and grow bigger until it's too overwhelming to handle. It all starts with the thought-life. Our battle is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6), but it can be fought in the mind.

The shield of faith is only as effective as our faith is strong. As women, our feelings and emotions can easily drive a lot of our decisions and words. We cannot let our faith be determined by our feelings or the game is over in that moment. Our faith must be rooted in scripture and God's promises to us. Hold up your shield of faith, not a shield of feelings.

WOMAN OF READINESS: THE TRUE FEMINIST SERIES

The thing about being ready is, we don't know when the Lord will call on us asking to step forward and do a thing, so we need to be prepared at all times. We might have an opportunity to share the Gospel with the cashier at the grocery store, or your coworker, or you family during a holiday dinner (gasp! but religion at the dinner table is unwelcomed! War is uncomfortable, but the reward will be great) or with an old friend. Be prepared to share the good news of peace!

WOMAN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS: THE TRUE FEMINIST SERIES

The breastplate of righteousness, or the breastplate of faith, is to be worn with trust in our God that what He says is true, and His promises are 'yes and amen'. We are to wear our faith on our chest, protecting our hearts from any attacks. Since the enemy attacks the woman first, we can be prepared by keeping our hearts rooted in faith and in alignment with His Word.

WOMAN OF TRUTH: THE TRUE FEMINIST SERIES

The girdle, or belt of truth is necessary to put on before putting on any other piece of armor. Every morning, its the first thing to grab. The truth is our plubline to everything else in life.

WOMAN OF VALOR: THE TRUE FEMINIST

The same word used to describe the Holy Lamb of God (Revelation 5:11-12) is used to describe Gideon, a man hiding in a hole, and David, a teenage shepherd, and Ruth, an out-of-town widow. He was with them, so they were valiant. You must have the Holy God with you to be a person of valor. Carry the Lord with you daily by putting on His armor, His uniform.
